For UC San Diego students, staff and faculty

If this is not an emergency and you are seeking confidential support, contact CARE at the Sexual Assault Resource Center at (858) 534-5793 during business hours Monday–Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

CARE offers free and confidential support services for all UC San Diego students, staff, and faculty impacted by sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking.

To reach CARE during non-business hours and on weekends for support, please call (858) 534-5793. Confidential counselors are available to answer calls and provide support and information.

  • A counselor will answer and will ask for the caller's name and phone number. You may provide them with any name you are comfortable giving. 
  • If you would prefer to remain anonymous, you have that option but it may impact the types of services we are able to provide.
  • You may have someone you trust call for you if you feel uncomfortable calling yourself.

If you are experiencing relationship violence and need emergency response, call 911.

UCSD students who are in need of urgent mental health support should call CAPS at (858) 534-3755.

*Warning: Communication on the Internet is NOT secure; third parties may view and store confidential communication. All communications with users of CARE services are privileged and confidential under California Evidence Code Sections 1035.2 and 1037.2. Accordingly, employees in the CARE Office are not mandatory reporters under Title IX or the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

For UC San Diego students (undergraduate, graduate, or professional)

  • Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS): (858) 534-3755. CAPS provides confidential counseling such as individual, group, couples and family psychotherapy for registered UCSD undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Student Legal Services: (858) 534-4374. Student Legal Services offers free and confidential counseling on legal topics for individuals and/or groups as well as referrals to a private attorney.
  • Triton CORE: (858) 534-4357 (request Triton CORE team).  Triton CORE is UC San Diego’s crisis response team of mental health professionals that provides compassionate mobile crisis response, mental health wellness checks,  and telehealth assessment for students facing mental health challenges, substance use related crises, and other forms of distress. 
  • UC San Diego Office of the Ombuds: (858) 534-0777. The UC San Diego Office of the Ombuds provides confidential, neutral, and informal dispute resolution services for the UC San Diego community.

For UC San Diego staff or faculty

  • Faculty & Staff Assistance Program (FSAP): (858) 534-5523. FSAP is a campus resource that provides one-on-one information, support and counseling. They can also refer you to community resources outside the university.
  • UC San Diego Office of the Ombuds: (858) 534-0777. The UC San Diego Office of the Ombuds provides confidential, neutral, and informal dispute resolution services for the UC San Diego community.

Off-campus Resources

  • Center for Community Solutions (CCS): 888-385-4657 (DVLINKS). This 24-hour, toll-free hotline connects San Diego County victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault to community resources such as counseling, temporary housing, legal assistance, etc.
  • Women’s Resource Center: (760) 757-3500: This 24-hour hotline connects victims and survivors to support services, counseling, shelter, and education in North San Diego County.
  • San Diego Family Justice Center: (866) 933-HOPE(4673). The FJC provides comprehensive, trauma-informed, wrap-around services for domestic violence survivors and their families. License to Freedom: (619) 401-2800.
  • License to Freedom: (619) 401-2800. License to Freedom is a non-profit organization serving refugee and immigrant survivors of domestic and relationship abuse in the East County and San Diego region.
  • YWCA San Diego: (619) 234-3164. This 24-hour domestic violence hotline connects survivors experiencing domestic violence and homelessness to residential programs and services.
  • San Diego stalking hotline: (619) 515-8900. This hotline, hosted by the San Diego Stalking Strike Force, provides information and support to victims of stalking.
  • Outside of San Diego: Locate a California Rape Crisis Center in your county.
